BELLA COOLA MASK CA 1900

The mask is a " OLD MAN"  Mask one similar is in the American Museum of Natural History.  Usually having the streaks beneath HE CARRIES A STAFF AND USES IT TO REMIND PARTICIPANTS TO PAY ATTENTION.  Chris Peterson found a photo o a Bella Coola man dancing the mask in 1930.
